My favorite part - Where to EAT!

If you are on a diet, this might not be the portion of the website for you.  I'm here to share the best places in my opinion to eat, not the healthiest places to eat.

Yeoman's Cask & Lion sits in downtown Tampa.  Their address is 202 N Morgan St. Tampa FL 33602.  With a trendy English theme and Menu this place is fun, is reasonably priced, and has delicious food.  Try the Philly Steak Macaroni and Cheese, you wont be disappointed.  Bring your appetite as well because the portion sizes are also exceptional

German Bistro 2 is located at 1300 E Bay Dr. Largo FL 33771.  You are going to need to call for reservations 727-216-6519.  The German food here will make your taste buds explode.  The portions are generous and the atmosphere is exceptional.  Often you can find live accordion music being played while you eat.  If you like German food and visit this place and find it to be any less than great your probably need to find another website to address your vacationing needs because we obviously have two different opinions on places to eat.

If fine dining is what you crave or you don't mind paying for what you get when it comes to enjoying a great steak, Bern's Steak House located at 1208 South Howard Ave Tampa FL 33606 is likely the place for you.  Located in South Tampa Bern's (referred to by locals) is a great place.  With their steaks, wine selection, and desert you will find out first hand why this place is so renowned.  Dress code applies to visiting.  The wine cellar takes up the good part of a city block underground.  Step away from the dinner table and make your way upstairs to the desert room where you can often be serenaded by live piano music.  In a very romantic environment you will be overwhelmed with options for desert.  Everything is to die for but I prefer the Bananas Foster.

Jimbo's Bar B Q - You didn't think you could visit the south and get opinions on where to eat without getting a BBQ recommendation did you?  There are a few things that we do well in the south.  BBQ is one of them.  With two locations,

4103 W Kennedy Blvd, Tampa FL 33609 and

1215 E Memorial Blvd, Lakeland FL 33801.

No matter what location you decide to visit, you will get served some good down home Bar B Q.  Jimbo's serves all guest all you can eat dill pickles and sweet peppers.  The brisket sandwich is my favorite.  Don't forget the homemade Jimbo's BBQ sauce which is also for sale so you can take a bottle with you.  Oh yea, do you like Pie?  Take a taste of one of the slices of pie and I promise you won't be able to push it away without eating all of it, no matter how full you are.

Do you want a beachy environment with a seafood menu that wont kill you?  PJs Oyster Bar 7490 Gulf Blvd, St Pete Beach, FL 33706 is a cool place.  Aside from the very casual environment and affordable menu, the kids can see PJ the paret in the cage.  Again there are fancier seafood places.  Im trying to give you value for your dollar.  Stay away from everything on Johns Pass as everything there will be expensive as can be and likely too busy and noisy.

Brocato's Sandwich Shop is located east of Downtown at 5021 E Columbus Dr. Tampa FL 33619.  Nothing on the menu is less than great.  However I recommend most highly the meatball sub, Cuban sandwich, or deviled crab.  Understand the portion sizes are made for hungry people who enjoy Cuban food.  I would not recommend anything larger than the small meatball sub as it will fill you up.  The deviled crab is not like most places where its the size of your fist and is mostly stuffing with a little bit of crab meat.  This enormous mass of crab is Huge and if your a fan of deviled crabs, you expectations will surely be met.

If you find yourself on the Southeast side of town and Sushi is your thing, make your way over to Crazy Cafe located at 3883 US-301 Riverview FL 33578.  There is nothing bad on the menu. If there are some in your party that do not prefer sushi but like hibachi food, they will likely enjoy the hibachi items on the menu.  Though there is not a hibachi buffet, the portions served are robust.  I highly recommend the Godzilla Roll with creame cheese instead of avocado.  If you are an avocado fan, go ahead and keep it the way it is.  Either way you will likely have less than favorable opinions on the place you used to frequent for sushi.  Their prices are very affordable compared to many other sushi establishments.

If you make it to Lakeland Florida for any number of reasons, Harry's Seafood Bar & Grille is outstanding!  A New Orleans themed restaurant brings you Cajun dish after Cajun dish that you will likely crave weeks after your trip to Tampa is over.  Located at  101 N Kentucky Ave, Lakeland FL 33801, Harry's is the place to be in Lakeland for lunch or dinner.  The Key Lime Pie is phenominal.

South of Tampa, in Strawberry Season (usually Late December until late April) a short way from Interstate 75 in Riverview FL you can find Goodson Farms. (Open from December to April.)  With a produce stand surrounded by strawberry fields you can grab a Cuban and/or Bar B Q pork sandwich and the most delicious strawberry shortcakes, sundaes, and milkshakes this side of the Mississippi.  If you are there in season be patient, you likely wont be the only one venturing out that way for food or produce.  Often a line is formed and sometimes out the door but if people line up out the door for a strawberry short cake they must be doing something right.  Family owned and operated for decades, you can find Goodson Farms at 12405 Balm Rd in Balm FL 33503.

If your make your way down to the lower half of the Pinellas County Beaches (Treasure Island to Ft. Desoto and want to enjoy a nice snow cone to help combat the Florida heat, look for Beach Snowballs at 7350 Gulf Blvd St. Pete Beach FL 33706.  Economically priced and family friendly you can enjoy an ice cold treat.  With more flavors and varieties than one would want to count, everyone will be able to find a flavor they like.
